Whether you prefer to wash your delicates by hand, or need to clean a garment with a care label that recommends handwashing, we’re here to help with step-by-step instructions for how to hand-wash your clothes.
What you’ll need:
- A clean tub or sink
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Water
Step One: Check the care label of your garment.
Step Two: Fill a clean tub or sink with water (make sure to reference the water temperature indicated on the care label) and add a small amount of liquid laundry detergent.
Step Three: Add your garment and submerge in the water. Carefully agitate the garment, being gentle so as to avoid damaging the fabric.
Step Four: Drain the tub or sink and fill with clean water. Continue gently agitating the garment to remove any remaining detergent. Repeat as necessary.
Step Five: Use a clean, dry towel and press the garment to remove any excess moisture. Hang or line dry the item.
