Salsa is a delicious dip to add to a meal or snack. But this tasty condiment is meant to be on food, not on your clothing! Your favorite shirt need not be ruined – it’s easy to learn how to remove salsa stains and get it looking as good as new. Discover the following tips so you can return to your party and continue the fun.
Remove as much of the salsa as possible using a cloth or a blunt object.
Pre-treat the salsa stain with some Persil® Advanced Clean Oxi+Odor Power and leave it to soak into the fabric.
Wash the garment as normal according to the instructions on the care label. Pay particular attention to the maximum recommended washing temperature.
Done! It’s a good idea to check the stain has been removed after washing. If not, repeat the process.
What you’ll want to do first to remove salsa stains is to scrape off as much as possible with a blunt knife or a spoon. Then, place the stained area under a tap and run cold water through the fabric. It’s best to do this from the back of the garment, so that any excess salsa doesn’t affect any other part of the fabric. You could also grab a wet cloth and blot the stain very gently to get rid of the excess salsa, but be careful not to rub vigorously.
Next, gently apply a few drops of liquid laundry detergent, ideally something strong like Persil® Advanced Clean Oxi+Odor Power, directly onto the stain and gently work it into the fabric. You could use an old toothbrush or simply rub the fabric together in order to work the liquid detergent into stain. Allow the item to sit like this for around 10 minutes. Pre-treating is one of the best methods to learn when it comes to removing salsa stains.
Finally, it’s time to wash the clothes:Pour a liquid laundry detergent into the washing machine, or place a Ultra Pac™ into the drum of the washing machine before adding your clothing.
Depending on the material of the fabric, you will need to choose the correct setting for your machine’s wash cycle. For example, wool garments need lower temperatures, but cotton or denim can handle higher temperatures. If in doubt, check the care symbols on your garment for the best temperature for washing. Remember, you want to remove salsa stains, but not ruin your garment by washing it incorrectly!
After the wash cycle has ended, check to see if the stain has been removed before drying. If not, repeat the above steps again.
Salsa stains have a way of dancing onto our clothes. Don’t let any of these drips from the chip ruin the fiesta.
Munching on appetizers like chips and guacamole can lead to some mean green stains, but Persil® isn’t afraid of a challenge. When it comes to fighting dip drips, we have it handled. Carefully scrape off any residual guacamole that is sitting on top of the clothing item. Then rinse the stain with warm water through the back of the stain. Apply Persil® Liquid detergent to the stain, rub in and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Then launder with the warmest water recommended on the garment label.
When this dip leaves its mark, no need to stress over the mess. Breathe easy knowing Persil® has the upper hand when it comes to cheesy stains. Carefully scrape off any nacho cheese that is sitting on top of the clothing item without rubbing in the stain or spreading it. Then, rinse the stain with warm water through the back of the stain. Apply Persil® Liquid detergent directly to the stain, rub and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Then, launder with the warmest water recommended on the garment label.
